• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Master Cylinder Heat Shield

Well..!!

that heat sheilding will keep th plastic cap from melting. They added it in other places as well. There was an update to the system via buds. This has helped with the problems they were having...waiting for summer and it will propably be scoarcher to see how effective it is. Hope they keep in mind this will not make it stone cold it is still an internal combustion engine in a confined space...:dontknow:

With how hot the brake fluid can still get I hope people flush their brake fluid more often.

I do all my vehicles at least once a year already. Really, I've seen how bad fluid can get just in stop and go traffic.

If BRP knows it is hot enough to melt plastic, they should realize it is hot enough to boil gas. The Master Cylinder sits directly below the fuel tank.

Gasoline can boil at such wide range of temperatures; that they might figure that it's an impossible situation to control all of the time... :dontknow:

I still think that adding a fan at the bottom panel will make a world of difference for these bikes. Someone did that last year and they said they had good results.

No doubt; airflow will be a major contributor to the end of the heat "issues".

But it still is going to take a multifaceted approach.

added fan

I still think that adding a fan at the bottom panel will make a world of difference for these bikes. Someone did that last year and they said they had good results.

last year I installed a fan on the bottom pans as shown on "phils mods" and it works great in stop and go traffic. I also added two scoops at the area where the air wings are to push air thru the Tupperware when moving. last week I added jt's air filter, that really added to the airflow. when I get done riding and park the machine the plastic is not even warm. I never had the extreme heat issues that others reported but I wasn't happy with the heat under the Tupperware, I am totally pleased with the mods I've done and they work well for me.

 GLAD to hear it! :2thumbs:
As much as I'd like to see BRP at the fore-front of the process; I really admire the fact that owners are finding ways to fix their own bikes! :firstplace:
