• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Marker lights fixed and working again

Ok, so my marker lights didnt light and we finally got out to her with a volt meter and the hot wire was hot but the ground wasnt right, thus no marker lights... pulled the wheel off to follow ground and found the issue right away. The previous owner had change the markers to orange lights and must be when he did this he pulled on the socket and thus the wires became unsecured and he did not realize they fell to touch tire... initially that is, because we could tell he had repaired the wires but what he must not have known was that he needed to secure them back up so they didnt touch the tire, because his repair failed as the ground wire had been worn through again by the tire rubbing on it.
Long story short, it was an easy fix... replaced the repaired wires and secured them up away from tire as they should be and voila, the marker lights are working!

Great job Lisa !!! :2thumbs: We have been very busy preparing to go to Lake Placid for Spyders in the Adirondacks, but when we get back we still want to get together with you and Bob for a meet and ride.

Even though you are stealing my thunder by getting a Spyder in our small city I am so glad there is another to Ryde with. :roflblack: It really ment alot to me when you said "seeing my Spyder in our city kept your dream of having one alive".

I'm so happy for you that you got it fixed. Did you name it yet ??? Are you getting used to it yet ???

I wish we could get up to Spyders in the Adirondacks, but I just cant get away from work. We do look forward to meeting up with you and your wife, it will be great to finally meet up with the rider of the yellow spyder. :D
I havent named it yet... well, perhaps I have, cause my plate is FOXYRN and I've been calling her Foxy, so... perhaps she is named already...
My last bike, I just kept calling her the "She Beast", but that was because I have a knee problem and she got really heavy in the last year or so that I owned her. I know now my knee prob is a torn tendon and I will have surgery to fix it, none the less, I am sure glad I got my spyder, I love riding it! It's a different ryde than a 2 wheeler, and really, its more fun! I still need more time with it to really say I'm used to it, but I'm getting there. I took it as a good sign that I stopped reaching for the front brake and stopped trying to put my feet down at stops!:roflblack:

" When in doubt, smoke 'er out!" Congrats Lisa. Shows that, even in this age of computerization, a lot of troubles can be solved by old-fashioned, methodical trouble shooting.
