• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Manual Gear Selector

Mine is a 2018 RTL. The reverse quit working. The bike rides normally with the gear shifting up and down when at a stop. However, it will not shift down manually thus will not allow for reverse. Does that means that the problem is with the switch in the cluster? Taking the bike to my dealer. Still under warranty.

Are you pressing and holding down the "R" reverse button with your foot on the brake from neutral when trying to shift into reverse?

without all the above steps the Spyder will not shift into reverse.

My 2018 RTL is acting exactly like yours. Will not shift into neutral and refuses to go into reverse. Forward gears are fine. Getting worse all the time. Anxious to hear what your dealer has to say. Can't take mine to dealer now because of upcoming trip (not on spyder).

I am with Grandpot on this one. Reason is that if I am moving in 4 or 5th gear and try to downshift manually, it will not respond therefore pressing the R to reverse has no effect since the minus button is not being activated by pressing. Waiting for the dealer to call me. I will post the result.

Yes Cruzr Joe. I do all of that. This happened to me once before but somehow it cleared by itself, not this time.

There was a service bulletin issued for this very same problem in 2018.

Ottawa-rider, I am not able to find this bulletin on the web and the one you posted is so small, can't hardly read it. Please tell me where did you get that, so I can download? Thanks a lot.

Grab the pic, and load it into some imaging software...like Infanview (free download) and you can resize and print it out...

All you need to know is when you drop it off at your dealer. Mention that you think the problem you are having is talked about in Warranty bulletin 2018-5. They can look it up.

Spoke to the dealer. They are replacing the entire left cluster. 7 to 10 days for the part to arrive. Question is: are they replacing with the exact same one or a new "improved" model?
