• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Making the Spyder even more Stable

Honda with Outrigger Wheels

There were a variety of outrigger wheel setups offered in the aftermarket (and still are a few). A Goldwing here in town a couple of years back had some small ones that deployed automatically as you stopped, and retracted when under way. If you see one in action they'll make you do more double takes than a Spyder. I think those were by the Landing Gear company in New Orleans, that was wiped out by Katrina. If I'm gonna have outrigger wheels, I think I'd like them on a Pulsar.

Here are a couple of pics of a rig I saw last month in Pennsylvania. It is hard to see from the photos, but the back tire is still there between the "outrigger" tires. I talked to the owner, who told me that the outriggers tend to catch a fair amount of air on turns and in the curves. She said it can be a bit scary at times. :yikes:

I posted the pic because I thought it was interesting -
but I also can't figure out why on an MP3?:dontknow:

It would make more sense to buy a 2 wheeler and add the extra wheels to make it kinda-sorta a non-leaner like the Spyder, at less than half the cost.

Tow Pac on the MP3 is criminal in my book. Why take that beautiful technology that allows the front parallel wheels to lean and then essentially destroy the bike's ability to lean by putting outrigger wheels in back?

It's more than overkill. It's crazy!!!

:agree: I was trying to be nice. Mama said "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything." I didn't...for a while. I love the way the Piaggio MP3 rides and leans, then locks up under 5 mph at the push of a button. If it had twice the horsepower, it would actually be practical.

I like the looks of the smaller one better. Even the 500 is a bit anemic. At the time Nancy considered one (BS...Before Spyder), they only had the 250.

I considered one Before Spyder too. Not being able to conveniently see one in person made it very easy to pick the Spyder over a Piaggio.

With all due respect, Brian, a guy your size on a Piaggio would have looked like a circus act, kind of like one of those trained bears! :ohyea::joke:

That's another reason why they didn't get too much consideration from me, I was afraid I'd be laughed out of the parking lot at work. :opps: :D

They already make you park in the back of the lot, what could be worse than that? :joke: :roflblack:
