• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Making the jump to the RT from RS

The wife and I should take delivery next week of a brand spanking new 2015 RT-S Special Series pearl red and black. We didn't want to spend that much but once we saw the color combo and all the other series features it was all over but the paperwork. They treated us right on my 2011 RS and made a great offer on all my extras. Of course once the wife sat on the RT at a show and absolutely fell in love with it, I knew it was going to happen. After all, If mama ain't happen, ain't nobody happy. Enjoyed the heck out my RS but after 150-200 miles I was ready to get off and stay off, even with the comfort seat. At this point I can barely sleep and can't wait for the riding to begin.:2thumbs::yes:. If you have any advice or experience about making the jump, please let me know. Here's to a great and safe summer:ohyea:.

Congratulations..!!

that is a great color combo and we want to see the pictures when you get them. It is a big leap, relax and enjoy the changes....:2thumbs::ohyea:

Congrats on your new ride!

Here's my observations from going from an '08 GS to a '14 RT:

It took a little while to adjust to cornering with a much heavier and larger Spyder, but once I got it figured out, keeping up with hubby on his 2 wheels is not a problem.

Get a laser alignment - almost all new Spyders straight from the factory need one

Eco mode is a a personal choice. It does cut your throttle power but ends up saving your mpg while on the highway. You'll have to experiment with it and see if you like it. I leave mine on most of the time because of the roadways here, but absolutely have to downshift if the Eco mode is on and I need to make a quick and safe pass.

Opted for the Tri Axis handlebars because the stock bars were too wide and too far forward, so my shoulders had problems with long rides for the first month. That was the one farkle that was a "must do"

BRP makes a reasonably priced set of adjustable wind deflectors, which does not require drilling any holes, that are wonderful in warmer weather.

The heated grips get pretty hot, and its never been cold enough here to use the "hi" settings.

The better wind protection from the electric windshield and front faring means you get beat up less by the wind and can go the extra 100 miles or so and not be so exhausted.

Wishing you many happy miles on that pretty red RT :spyder2::clap::yes:
