• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

PROBABLY INCLUDES ANOTHER OIL CHANGE(AFTER 1500 MILES) :hun::dontknow:DO I NEED TO GET THE 4500 MILE SERVICE DONE TO MAINTAIN THE WARRANTY?

The new schedule is 4600, So add 3000 to 4600 = 7600, So if i got it right,:dontknow: Your next Service is due at'
7600 Miles.

Do you have the SE5 - if so in order to shift to the new maintenance schedule your dealers needs to have installed the new trans filter and filter cap when they did the 3000 mile service.

If SM trans. you should be good to go on the new service schedule.

6000 mile service

I had about 5500 miles when I received the notice from BRP about the new schedule. I went to 6000 miles and they installed the new access panel, changed the oil, did some computer updates. All for only $364.00 (:gaah:). I will be doing my next oil change at 10500 miles.

There was a new filter for both SE and SM so as long as your dealer used the new filters at your 3,000 oil change you would be good to go to 7,500. If they used the old style filter you would technically need an oil change at 6,000 miles.

Summary:

Changes due 3000 miles after last change (if done on schedule) if old style filters are fitted.
Changes due 4600 miles after last change if new style filters are fitted.

When your next change is due depends on which filters were fitted at the 3K service. It will not be at 4600 miles...it will be at either 6000 or 7600.

Make sure you check our oil level at the 500 mile intervals as recommended. I think you might find that you'll need to add some oil before you get to the next service interval. I found about an extra quart ps needed between oil changes nojoke

It is not recommended to go more than 3,000 miles on an SE if you have the old transmission filter. Only with the new larger filter is the new maintenance schedule followed of every 4,500 miles.

Both the trans and engine filters are new. The SE needs 2 new style filters and the SM needs the new engine filter to follow the new schedule.

Ride it and change the oil at 7500. That is 4500 after the last oil change. On my 2008 SE5 I changed the trans filter at 24,000 +/- miles and rode it another 20,000 miles before trading it in. I always changed it's oil and engine filter at 5000 miles. I NEVER had any issues with either the trans or the engine. I worry less and ride more. A warranty only comes in question if there are engine or trans issues, which are few in number considering the thousands of Spyders sold.

Don't do as I do, just think how wrong you think I am while I just put on the miles.

And I use Royal Purple 10W40 automotive synthetic oil and have a total of 67,000 miles combined mileage with no oil issues what so ever.

Switch to new 4600 mile maintenance schedule... only with new filters!

The new schedule is 4600, So add 3000 to 4600 = 7600, So if i got it right,:dontknow: Your next Service is due at'
7600 Miles.

Your figures are correct... however... if the new filters were NOT installed on his Spyder at the 3000... then he can't go 4600 miles til the next fluid change. He can only go 3000 which would put him at 6000 for the next change. After that, with the new filters, her can go 4600 between changes.
