There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Magic Mirror Mounts

I just wanted to pass along that I installed my Magic Mirror Mounts today in all of about 15 minutes. These are a big improvement over the pin mounts, and can't wear out. Thanks, Russ for a well thought out and designed kit!

Mine arrived in the UK today and took about the same time to fit. I must say there a massive improvement from the stock fixings. Thanks.

thanks for the feedback:thumbup:
we had our annual muster last weekend and there were some innovative methods of mirror affixing on show

one guy came and got me,proudly claiming he had no need of the magics
he had drilled a hole right through his mirror and screwed in a tek screw(a screw used in roofing to hold down corrugated iron)the hex head was sticking out covering the glass so always visible when riding...some people just dont get it:banghead:

another guy was at least a bit more subtle....he had used copious amounts of silastic on his mounts in a bid to retain his mirror as he had broken his oem clips..he went away a very happy camper:yes:

:D It took me an hour... but I set the Gold Standard for Klutziness! nojoke
(most of that time was wrestling with the magnets...)

It's a fan-dang-tastic setup, and I want to thank Russ again!!  :2thumbs:

Seems like this is a must have for my RT-S. Just curious, Do I wait for Spyderfest (will they be there?)

Russ, If I order this week, how many weeks out are they? I understand with the shipping but what is the estimate? :spyder2::spyder2:

thats really difficult to say
im just waiting on numbers confirmation from the dealers and if interested at all
they got samples only this week and I need to make sure they have something for spyderfest if they order
so the cut off is pretty much now
if you miss out at spyderfest then I should be right by the end of april
but by then there should be sufficient stateside as dealers must be looked after
sorry to be so vague

btw if anyone is a bit nervous re the install it could be better waiting to buy from dealer as they can fit for you.obviously there will be a charge, but it's agood option
thanks. Russ

Just purchased mine. Appears that the tethers no longer come with the kit. Any suggestion to develop an at home version of the tether?

Thanks, Jeff

After seeing how well these things stick: I wouldn't worry about not having tethers on them... nojoke

But if you really wanted them...
Hook your tether to the screw that holds the bodywork that goes around the headlights...
(A wire with a crimped-on eyelet should work...)
The other end needs to have a way to disconnect from the mirror. How about attaching a ring to the mirror, and a clip to the wire? :dontknow:

They've found with more time, mileage and testing that the tethers are not needed and so they stopped including them. I didn't even put them on. The original mount didn't have tethers either. I personally wouldn't worry about it but if you really wanted them you could make a tether similar to what they did - use a small binder clip and wire and attach per their specs.

Thank you for the insight. I figured they were not including them for a reason and that being they really are not needed.

I'm an "Insurance Guy", so I always see "The Monsters under the Mattress"...
But after seeing how it works: Even I feel better about how strong it is! :2thumbs:

Having been amongst the first batch sent mine did come with the teathers included
I fitted them and then saw the threads they were not needed and were no longer being included
Having seen just how well the magnets hold the mirrors to the bodywork and how you have to fiddle with the mirror once removed to get the teathers out and to refit them back before you put the mirrors back on
I decided to remove them and agree they are not required

Got mine

Took about 15 mins to install. The only thing wrong is I didn't think of it. Great item Thanks alot.

It took the wife and I about an hour to install 2 sets, one set on her 14 and one set on my 13. We rejoiced at not having to fight with not having to fight with those clips anymore!:yes::yes:

Waiting on mine - looks like a very positive improvement and that the mirrors are likely to not be damaged by the on/off process that has always been just a bit scary for me.
