• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm going to order a Madstad replacement windshield for my '12 RSS. Anyone know of a good vendor (good service and charges less than MSRP); who sells the entire replacement kits other wise I'm off to madstad.com to man up and pay MSRP! :yikes: Thanks!

I'm detecting a trend here; 57 views and no replies :roflblack:. I couldn't find anyone who's selling the Madstad kits either when I searched it before posting; just a couple vendors with "replacement windshields". Not much good to me without the mounting plate and brackets...........:(. Time to man up and pay retail; I guess. Thanks anyway!

Do you need a Madstadt bracket, a windshield, or both?

I run the Madstadt bracket with a BRP touring windshield on it and it works well for myapplication. I could see where someday the windshield would need to be replaced but I would expect the bracket to last as long as the bike.

As for price... I could very well hold the record for amount spent on finding a suitable windshield for a Spyder. I have the setup mentioned above and it is worth the price IMHO.

Good luck.

Theres some Madstad Spyder shields on ebay for $99 free ship. Buy the mounting apparatus from Madstad and youre set!

*EDIT* Just looked at one of the auctions and it was a replica of the original Madstad design.

I still wanna know what happened to the Madstad headlight and fog light lens covers that he never put up for sale on his website. Coulda made some money off me.

Opinion :

Buy 3rd party, not an authorized distributor such as ebay etc, and get no warranty.
Buy direct from manufacture, Madstad or authorized distributor, get warranty.

Yes I know Mark, the owner of Madstad, and he is a customer oriented person.

I got mine dirrect

I found that after checking all over that the price and customer service at MADSTAD is top shelf
I have 2 of them one on my Honda ST1100 and one on my 2009 GS they work great...,
If you do not want to get their windshield then just get the mounting hwd. and mounting plate
and put whatever shield you want on it.... you will have to drill 4 holes in the shield if you do use
a shield from a different company.
If you want pictures of my 24 inch unit on the GS just let me know.
