• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Made the jump from GS to RT

Picked up the RT A+C yesterday :) Got over 400 km (250 mi) in and am very pleased with the ryde! Haven't explored the entire power band yet but, so far, I've no issues.

Handling is great and may be easier than the GS in terms of steering input. Stability on the highway is solid. The SE5 is an absolute wonder for this style of machine.

The upright ryding position is so much better, with no numbness in my hands which is the case with my GS (only have a 1" riser).

And, most important, my wife is a much happier rider on the RT!!

We're planning a 4,800 km trip in September, so that'll be the true test of Spyder and marriage... ;)

:congrats: on the upgrade. We never had an RS to compare but my wife also loves the ride on the RT.

:congrats: on the new ride. Very important to keep the wife happy. In my opinion, compared to the GS, the RTS is a very different ride.

Congrats on finding a ryde that suits your needs better, Rod-O! I am a little uncomfortable about some respondents referring to it as an "upgrade", however. I mean, put a crotch rocket rider on a Goldwing and see if he figures it's an upgrade! Remember looking for girlfriends in high school? Some fellows liked them built for comfort and some liked them built for speed, lol. Best of luck on your trip. Hope the RT turns out to be everything you were looking for.

To me they're not even the same bike. If I had to double all the time I 'd get the RT. It is one boring bike.I figure if you have to putt around all the time you might as well enjoy the tunes and relax because there is no performance in it whatsoever. It's definitely not an upgrade, just a different stroke for a different folk.
