• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Luggage Buddy

As I see it...

It is great for the occational user. It also works well but you do have to know and pack accordingly. If you ever follow a fellow ryder with a hitch you can see the amount of movement going on. Dew to the location it needs to be seal tight to protects your stuff. Plus it is easy to store then if not this you can look into soft luggage...

I use Pakit Rak and like it. IT is a great thing to have along when heat requires you to shed layers

Luggage

I had one of my own invention when I went from Oly, Wa to Springfield, Mo last year. I had a few problems with it bouncing around and had to wrap everything in garbage sacks because of the rain. Since they are attached to the hitch they bounce with the rear tire. This year if I need to haul more stuff I will pull a trailer. I will try and attach some pictures of the one I have.

Great if you bolt a Rubbermaid tub on. Rain gear, jackets, gloves, laundry. Stuff that is bulky but light. Move the tag to the rear of the tub. That cargo will cube out before it weighs too much.

Sorry dear but I have to disagree. When Robin and I rode to FL I had clothes - under 40# - in the Rubbermaid tub and my Spyder handled poorly. When we went to British Columbia it was loaded with tools and was likely over the 40# tongue weight and, again, my Spyder handled poorly. I would not use one again, I only did it out of necessity since my trailer was out of commission.

Hi All,
I am thinking of buying a luggage buddy and just want to know how it affects your ride. I am looking at the luggage buddy because I don't think I will be doing a lot of long distance riding to warrant buying a trailer. Your comments are needed. Thanks.

I found this on Ebay about a year ago - got one - works great!!! Used it last year for Spyderfest and a trip to South Dakota. It may not be as big as some of the ones referenced here, but it holds 40# and is just right when you need a little bit more storage but don't want to pull a trailer. The cost $75 makes it really economical. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121220606016?item=121220606016&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

hi i have one, and had about 35 lbs total wt., i did not even feel it back there, worked great for us.

I would think the units themselves probably weigh half the 40 pounds allowed. When weighing them weigh the unit with the load for a total weight

under 40#.
