• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. After 2,000 miles test, it DID lower the engine temperature with 1-2 bars!

I think if you contact Harvey (REPOPS) he will be able to provide the kit. Watching him install one at cowtown, he had some custom cut foam pieces that he RTV'ed onto the radiator to stop air from flowing around the radiator and force all the air through the fins.

Yup.. he has special die-cut pieces that fit the area. Not sure what his final selling price will be--- but he was doing them for like $15 -$20 each in Cuba.

For that small amount of $$$ --- it's not even worth trying to do yourself IMO.

Harvey installed one on my Spyder in MO last weekend. I haven't ridden in hotter weather since, so I can't really tell how it works, though I'm sure I will this summer. My Spyder ran at 3 bars all the way home, which I'm guessing is the "sweet spot" with the thermostat.

Yes, I will have the Missing Air Dam available for shipping next week. It will come with die cut neoprene foam baffles, tube of 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive and Instructions.

$20.00 plus shipping and handling.

Joe (the mechanic at WestCoast Powersport in Cleawater Fl) saw this M.A.D. mod and said: "make sense". :doorag:

Harvey did the mod on my Spyder in Cuba and I concur that it seems to have a significant effect on running temperature. On the way home, I was running three bars in conditions where I would have been running four bars. Good job, Harvey! Now think of something else we can do.:2thumbs:

Alligator deflectors maybe? :roflblack:

Very cool and useful modification by the sounds of things.
2000miles is a pretty good test, also.

Do you have any other pictures of the mod to share? I would like to get more info on how it directs air through the rad instead around it.

Very cool, mod guys ;). I'm thinking about getting one, but not sure I really need it around here in Newfoundland. Although, summer we will be hitting 25-30C.

Would like more info if you can provide.
Thanks for sharing.

I don't want to become known as the guy who hit the poor, defenseless, alligator. I probably injured him. The dump truck killed him?? I don't want to get that close to an alligator again. I'll leave that to some other "Dundee".:2thumbs:

I'll take one. Mine seems to running hotter this year than last. I'm spending alot of time at 4-5 bars. It jumps up there pretty quick after I stop at a light, traffic etc. and takes longer to go back down. So, yes, I'll take one.

I believe it is. Now that I have had a chance to ride in warmer weather, I reach 4/5 bars earlier/more often than I did before the update. Don't know what to expect when it gets really hot, so might as well try to get some more air across the radiator. My money is on its way to AR.
