• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lower Deflector Panel Removal

Plastic panel below oil drain plugs.

I have seen it mentioned that removing this panel lowers the amount of heat that comes up around the seat. True or not?

What are the downsides to removing and leaving it off?

While I would not class the heat as excessive, anything that helps when it's 90F + outside is worth a try.

Thanks.................ed

I consider that was 20 minutes well spent. Just got back from 140 mile trip and while I don't have exact temperature data, going off the seat of my pants there was a significant difference. In fact, they may go back on just before next winter.

And what a joy the next oil change will be................ no more rag stuffing.

What deflector panel are we referring to?? The add on protective bump guard??. I have a 2015 F3's thus it may be different on your Spyder

I don't think the F3's have them. The RT's have 2, one one each side. Run from the side panels to the center rail. From the cross rail behind the frunk to almost the catalytic converter. Couple of push pins and a bolt holing each side on.
