• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Loud pipes save lives?

I will admit that I clicked on the article with my mind made up that it was going to be a commercial for loud pipes.

I was really, really, wrong.:bowdown:

What they said made total sense to me. Thank you for posting the article.

I agree with the article as well. When I am driving down the road I don't hear the cars or motorcycles until they are right on me or I don't even notice the sound. It all blends in with other noises such as radio, wind, road noise and other traffic.

Been riding since 1966. I have always said that loud pipes just aggravate people who hear the load noise, especially when riding through a quiet neighborhood at midnight. And for those of you who live in California where bikes can split lanes, how many times have you be startled when a bike goes between you and the car next to you while you are doing the speed limit in heavy traffic and trying to concentrate on your driving to avoid an accident. So do loud pipes save lives? There will always be a time when they might, but when you depend on them to save your life, one day you will lose. Ride like your life depends on it. You have to ride for yourself and the other riders/drivers around you. Will that guarantee you will never have and accident? Nope, but it is a lot more dependable than loud pipes.

This is my opinion. I think motorcycles have been banned from a lot of places because of loud pipes. The every day non rider doesn't want to hear that noise. A lot of other riders don't want to hear it either.

Calloway Gardens in middle Georgia does not allow motorcycles. Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head, SC doesn't allow motorcycles.
