• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Loud beep with key off

Today I had the brake failure code/symbol come up on my Spyder. I had set the emergency brake when I shut off the Spyder and when I turned it back on I got the code. I turned the emergency brake on and off a few times but the symbol didn't go away. I was riding in a Patriot Guard funeral escort and we rode about 5 miles at 10 - 15 mph in 95 degree heat. When I got to the cemetery and shut off the Spyder I got a loud beeping sound - like the backup alarms on fork lifts - it would quit if I turned the key on and then it resumed as soon as I turned the key off. I left the key off for several seconds and eventually the beeping stopped. The brake fault went away when I restarted it and hasn't come back on.

My question is has anyone else ever heard this beep? I can't recall reading about it on here before.

Thanks, I searched and found where someone said that only the SEs beep. I have an SM. I guess the next time I have it in for service I will have them look at the emergency brake.

It was a little embarrassing being at a cemetery and having the stupid thing beep. I usually don't set the emergency brake and I've never had the beeping happen.

I have a 2010 RT-S and this happened to me. I was pulling into the dealer for other schedule service and heard a pop as I pull into the parking while applying my brakes. In my case it was the parking brake actuator switch, located on the front actuator. After I pulled in I went to apply the parking brake and it did not apply, but I heard the actuator turning. The cable may have come off leading to the switch being damaged, anyway as soon as I turned off the Spyder it starting beeping, turn the key back on and it stopped. Like I said as was at the dealer when it happened so I didn't spend any time looking at, just told them and they took care of it.
If you engage the parking brake and it holds the Spyder, then switch, if not cable.

Yep

Had the same problem...cable had come loose from parking brake...dealer had to fix (but then I am soooo NOT mechanical)....sure annoying isn't it??
