• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My son lost the keys to his F3. I was able to get an ignition switch and DESS. Will I have to have it programmed or will it work after I install it?

Well it doesn't matter. Shop I ordered from couldn't find the parts so they refunded my money. Thanks everyone for the help.

So if you're still going to be using the original DESS & Ignition Switch, any good locksmith should be able to cut a key to suit; but even in that case you'll need to get the key programmed, & probably only a KNOWLEDGEABLE BRP Dealer could do that!!

Still, if you don't have ANY key at all now, you might need to get that DESS Module with a couple of keys to match anyway!! :dontknow: . The ignition barrel itself is just something that takes a key & any good locksmith who wants to bother should be able to sort out something - it's the DESS module that does the Security & Immobilising, and that can be a pain!!

Good Luck!

I believe the Dess module decodes the key and send a signal to the ECU to start the Spyder.
