• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Loose screws in RTS dash

Just a little heads up. This week while out riding I noticed that one of the 4 screws in my dash was just sitting there in the little depression. Lucky that it didn't go awol. There was no real reason for it to be loose. I have never taken the dash off so it just seems to have loosened on its own. I checked the other 3 screws and each one was a tiny bit loose and could be snugged up without any effort. Might want to check them periodically rather than lose one.

I have now encountered the same situation a couple times. Another item added to the inspection list for me.

Ok when people run out of spyder topics and start threads about loose screws, its time to start talkin polaticsnojoke

...or oil

...or tires

Mine are all replacements - not because they came loose, but because I removed them once, and one disappeared down a black hole by the handlebars! - I bought four new ones because I couldn't find a replacement with the same style head. :banghead:

I had the same thing happen on my 2014 RT.
Last year I had the lower left screw come out and lay in the pocket until I could stop and put it back In and tighten.

Loose screws

Me too. I carry a 7 piece tamper proof Torx set (it's like a folding pocket knife) in the frunk. Harbor Freight has them for $6.00. Item no 97471. A little drop of nail polish on the threads will help. Do not use Lock Tite.

Snug

Going go go snug them up now---- maybe a dab of RTV?????

Loose screws can cause Kaos

WELL-------- they were all very " un tight".

I suggest we all check them. There is a brass embedded nut in plasstic so be careful tightening them. Maybe 8 or 10 INCH pounds at most.
