• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for the RT Vent Kit instructions

I am also looking for the RT Vent installation instructions. Would it be possible to send me a copy also?

Thanks,
Mike

Update: Eckhard sent them to me today. Thanks for the help.

Mike

I finally cut the opening the rest of the way out. The engine still runs cooler than it did. We have 92+ degree heat right now so I think you hit a point where you can't see a major change when it is this hot. I like the look and know it is helping the bike run cooler. It also didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Finally got my heat vent kit for my RT. $72 from my dealer. As everyone else I need instructions to install them. Anyone with the instructions that would care to send them to me, PM me for my email address to send them to. Thank you. Nathan in Yakima WA

sduskin Thank you for the link to the install. Very much appreciated. Now I can get them put on my spyder this weekend. Nathan in Yakima, WA

New to spyders just purchased 2015 RTL need install instruction for vent kit

Is there some particular reason you want to install the vent kit? It was developed specifically for the 2013 RT which, because of retro fitting the v-twin into a frame designed for the 1330, had serious heat issues including some fires. That heat issue has not been a problem with 2014 and later RTs. Some owners have fitted the vent kit on 2014 and later RTs because they found the heat under the glove box to be a bit much, but they are a small minority of owners. I suggest you ryde your new-to-you RTL for several hundred, maybe even a few thousand, miles before you decide you really want or need the vent kit.

Would you possibly have these instructions still? I know it's been a long time.

Did you try clicking on this link at post #50??

Or this link in post #6 & again in post #36?

If you do a search for Doc Riverside, he has a complete rundown of the installation and where to get the vent kit at the best price. If I can find the link, I'll post it here when I do, and we just did the install on two 2015 RT's and they look like they came from the factory. Here's the link: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?84770-RT-vent-kit-on-2014-RT&highlight=side+vents Good luck.

...

They still work OK for me, and there's other links in this thread too, but they do take longer to load! :sour:

Either way, there are links to the instructions available in this thread, all you need to do is click on them.
