• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And where else would I go for expert advise..NOWHERE.
OK "experts" here is my need. Family friend arthritic fingers will no longer allow him to "thread" his chinstrap on helmet. I bought the NEW ECHO QUICK-RELEASE....he can get it released...but cannot line it up to connect..
Anyone have the answer...he will buy anything that works...told him I would ask the experts before he experiments trying to find one that works. Unfortunately we are hours away from a motorcycle store so rely on internet shopping.
Thanks so much to SL ..
Have a great day. It is 4 a.m. and a great day in the neighborhood!!!!

I'm not familiar with that brand of attachment... :opps:
But there are others out there that have designed differently. I have one right now that gives me fits. :gaah: I am just stubborn enough to have not changed it yet... but the time is coming!
Mine has two metal prongs that must be slid into the receptacle; some of them are designed with a single blade...

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Hi Karyl, I bought some at Americade, they are made out of plastic and are D.O.T. approved......I am familiar with the ECHO and mine are much easier to use...The problem is I have never seen them for sale anywhere except at Americade.......Sorry, Mike

Have your friend check out a Nolan helmet, they come with their own quick release, really easy to use.

Hi MIke,
Do you know what brand they are? I'd be willing to start digging around a bit if you can point me in a direction...

He could tie a string on the male end and feed it through the female end and put something on the end of the string so it won't pull through and then he could just pull on the string to line it up on the strap. Just make the string long enough that he can get the helmet on and off. :doorag:

That's the brand I use also. They work extremely well. Click to close and lift up and pull to release. If the current helmet is two years or more old--a good excuse to pick up a new one.

Linda has a LS2 3/4 that has a quick release that she really likes. She put one of the 2 metal prong style releases on her Summit but there are times when I have to fasten it if her hands are bothering her.

Ride and ride safe,
