• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is Can Am no longer doing the deposit / certificate thing? Or did you have that many people back out of purchases? Or can you as dealers now order for "stock" ???

We were able to order for stock!

You know that teally STINKS. I have a red SM5 that has been on order for 2 months. Have been told Delivery in Oct. Orginally was supposed to be in Sept. And you tell me they shipped you one for stock, and didn't ship the one I have ordered. Can-Am customer service really sucks. I'm talking to my dealer about this tomorrow.

Ah! but they may have ordered for stock before you ordered yours. They probably were also able to order for stock because they met and or exceeded their quota.

Im sorry to hear that some of you havent gotten your spyders yet. We are a can-am only dealer here. I wasnt looking to upset anyone just letting you know they are available, we placed orders when the demos were on the road doing tours so maybe it has to do with when the order was placed. I would be happy to help you with any other questions or concerns. Thank you Ginny

Ginny,
When are you going to have your web site up and running? You have given several times in the past that have come and gone, and are not responding to emails or this forum. It's hard to buy from you with no information or response. You have a link to your web site on this forum but it only goes to your home page. :dontknow:

Give it another month or two and watch the selling prices fall. The days of getting MSRP plus added on BS fees are going to be a thing of the past !!

Remember as some of you want to see the price drop so much from MSRP and freight and set up that all the previous buyers get their value dumped when dealers get weak and begin to drop price and compete.
If we all stay fair on MSRP and set up fees, your used bikes would be worth more money....
All want better prices but then original value takes a crap... Dont we have problems in America for these same reasons....

So if I bring a bike to you as a trade-in, you're gonna factor into what I paid for setup fees when you give me a trade value? I seriously doubt that.

If someone else can beat your prices and has :spyder:'s in stock than that's just the way it is.

You cannot tell me that even charging MSRP you don't make a profit.

:agree:

Actually depending on the area will depend on the stock order. Per the BRP dealer meeting the dealers will be able to have a few demos and one unit to sell. This is to stop the issues with the delays on ordering. This has not happend yet and is starting for the 09. So it could be the area you are in is why you have not gotten your orders yet. I still have a few to come in as well that were orders.

BTW At this time I can get my hands on a Silver SM5 from the demo truck but it has miles on it. If any one is interested we are selling it at a large discount.

I disagree. I was the second person to order an SE5 model (back in January) at a NY dealer, and I still haven't received it even though my certificate says by Sept. 30th (which won't happen). My dealer still has a waiting list. BRP is doing a great job of frustrating a lot of people, and causing them to go back to their reliable Hondas and Yamahas.

A lot of people keep saying to drive to another dealer that has them in stock. But then what do you do when you need service? Your local dealer will treat you poorly because you didn't buy it from them (even though they shouldn't).

And that's one of the prices you pay for early product adoption. On the plus side you get all the attention and fun of owning a fairly rare and unique vehicle.

On the minus side when supply finally catches up to demand the value of used units takes a hit. :dontknow:

Initially the price drives the market. At some point the market drives the price. It's the way of the world. If you don't like it don't sell your Spyder. ;)

Just got back from the Thunder Beach Rally in Panama City, haven't had computer access since Wed. But as I said I would talk to my dealer about this. I told him of a dealer having 6 stock units including a Red SM5. From here on I'm telling you what my dealer told me. He talked to BRP and gave them the info. Was told NO units were shipped to any dealer for stock and wouldn't be until Nov. BRP though will so many losing their jobs in the area, they may have been backed-out of orders. Apparently my dealer got a call from someone at American Can-am, apparently BRP must have called them, they told him the units they had DID NOT come in for stock. Now something stranger. somehow mine was assemblied last week, and will be here the second week of Oct. It is supposed to be a 09.

Still waiting for my SE5

Thought I would add my 2 cents. I orded my SE5 in APRIL, NO GOT.
I sure would like to purchase the silver SE5 that the dealer has, if Can- AM would let me transfer my deposit. I will buy it if we can make a deal on shipping.
