My wife and I both have FirstGear mesh jackets and pants, and like them very much.

Mesh Jacket

I've used the Joe Rocket brand for several years. They have a light liner that can be removed and have extra pading in the jacket at all the right places. Back, Shoulders and Elbows. The price was reasonable as well. I bought my first one for a trip in Florida for BiketoberFest in Daytona. It was nice to have the extra protection as well as keeping cool.

Check all brands out and see what you feel is best.

I'm a big fan of Tourmaster riding gear but the Tourmaster jacket and pants I have are not mesh.

I have a Teknic Supervent jacket; mine is older than this current model, but I really like it:

My wife has a Joe Rocket mesh jacket similar to this one:

You can't really go wrong with either one. The FirstGear products mentioned by Scotty are excellent too.

I am pleased to see that you are planning to wear protective gear in the summer. That is the mark of an educated rider. :thumbup:

I use a First Gear Mesh-Tex leather trimmed. Not too sure they make these anymore... but I know they still make 'em without the leather.

CorTech TourMaster mesh jackets work great for us. Like windshields and helmets, personal taste and fit are factors. Watch for specials at places like Competition Accessories and Shade Tree Powersports and you can get some great bargains.

I have an AGV mesh jacket with a liner, and I just picked up an Icon Hooligan mesh jacket on ebay, tags still attached for 25.00. Also motorcyclecloseouts.com is a place I often visit.

Olympia Motosports has some nice mesh gear. They are one of the few makers that have 3/4 length mesh jackets, if that's your thing.

Motorcyclecloseouts.com is definitely cheaper than other sites.

I love newenough but they don't have any good mesh coats on closeout right now...

motosport.com also has close-out items for cheap.... I got my husband $180 FirstGear over-pants for $120.

I wear the Can-Am Spyder gear and the hubby wears FirstGear jacket and pants. I also had several FirstGear mesh-tex jackets. I love them and they're cheap. Also come in tall sizes.
