Looking for a GOOD Spyder dealer in Phoenix, AZ area

We are considering a switch from a Harley to a 2014 RT SE6 for my wife. However, the few online reviews of the Spyder dealers in the Phoenix area aren't real positive and almost none of them refer to the Spyder part of the dealer's business. Also, we live in the White Mountains which is a rural area about 160 miles away from the closest dealer so finding a good one is critical for us. If any of you have ANY input on the Phoenix area dealers, good  or especially bad :yikes:, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey Woody,
Dealers out here that are worth anything are few and far between. The wife got her Spyder from Desert Dog Power Sports in Fountain Hills. We liked them because it was a no BS price. They gave us the price, which was lower than any other place, and we either paid it or not. No pressure. The other places in the Valley are Ride Now, have not had go experiences with them. Bunch of 20 yr olds, and when you ask about the Spyder, they just quote the brochure. There is one place in Mesa, Apache Motor Sports. Thats where we take ours for any warranty or software upgrades. The service department is ok, the sales guy for Spyders...well...kind of a jerk.
Let me know if I can help in any way.

FYI,
My sister-in-law lives in Show Low. We are up there a few times a year. Silver RT.

Lifestyle Honda in Mount Vernon, Wa. is the best here but it's too far from AZ.

Just want mention them just to thanks them this way.

Bought mine from Apache Sports. Great price but now I know why. I hate Ride Now as everyone in AZ does. You have to know someone on the inside. Impossible to deal with. Heard good things about the dealer in Fountain hills.

Also have a home at Torreon in Show Low--White Mountains.

Hey Dreamer,

Yeah I'm in Show Low so you know what I'm up against. A couple of weeks ago I made an appt for a test drive with John @ Desert Dog letting him know I was interested in a 2014 RTS. After driving 3+ hours to get there, he comes in a half hour late and the only Spyders he had were a 2012 RS and a 2012 RT. The RT had been on the floor so long the battery was dead the the tires were half flat. When he got it started it ran terrible and he had to change a fouled spark plug. Then after telling me I could only ride in the parking lot he takes off down the road. After waiting another 20 minutes he still hadn't returned and I had to leave. Not a good experience.

I'm trying Ridenow Sports Phoenix next week for a test ride offered to "serious" buyers. Most of the dealers I've contacted don't even offer a test ride which I consider a must coming from a Harley. I'm not about to shell out that kind of money without finding out if there is some chance I'll like it. I rented a Harley trike for a couple of days and put nearly 600 miles on it and found out it was not for me. My wife needs that option for the Spyder but I can't find anything like that.

Sorry to vent but I don't know how Spyder dealers out here stay in business with that kind of attitude but it explains why you don't see a lot of Spyders out here.

Thanks for your reply.

Yep, they are all pretty much the same. Desert Dogs main business isnt selling Spyders. If you saw next door, they seem to be more in business with their machine shop. I said the same thing when we bought my wifes Spyder. BRP had demo days the Firebird Raceway. It was real nice. They had every make and model to test drive. If you had a MC license they escorted you out on the road. My wife test drove a couple and decided on the 11 RTS. Not sure if they are having any demo days in AZ but you can look on their web site and see. Good Luck with your search. If you any questions or need anything feel free to give me a shout.

Check with Quinn Keefe at RideNow, Peoria. His cell is 815-790-4854. He knows Spyders and was brought in by RideNow from another state to shake up and train the Spyder teams at all of the RideNow Phoenix dealerships. He's headed in the right direction, but he is a salesman and the prime motivation is money, as you should expect at any dealership.

He has several 2014's on the floor as well as some used models.

Hey NautiBrit,

Thanks for the feedback. If we have no luck @ RideNow Phoenix next week, I'll give him a call. We're still early in the decision making process so that is good information.

Is there a dealer in Prescott? ProShop in Henderson, NV is a good dealer and they will let you test drive if you have the proper endorsement on your license. One of the things that I really dislike about Ride Now, Las Vegas anyway, is that their staff doesn't have a clue about what they are selling. Good luck and if you decide to come to NV give me a shout.

Hey SpyderAnn01,

There is a dealer in Prescott but only for the ATV's not Spyders. Henderson is more than twice as far a Phoenix so not a good option. We spent many years in Carson City, NV.
If we end up with a Spyder, a laser alignment would be on the to do list. Thanks for the invite.

Quinn Keefe

Quinn is the fellow who sold me my 013 ST Ltd last month. He knows the spyders very well. He's with Ride Now Peoria, if that makes any difference.

Thanks to all who reached out on this thread or by PM...

The result is a new Spyder Anne.:yes::yes::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea: 2014 RTS SE6 Pearl White
