• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Longer USB cable on my 2018 spyder

Hello All fellow spyder riders.
I got a good one.
I have a 2018 spyder RT Limited
The USB plug is in the frunk, but I want my iphone on the handle bars.
I was able to bring a lighting and a USB coupler cable from the frunk to the handle bars, but it will only connect to the BRP connect when the iphone battery is almost fully charged.
If I use a short lighting cable from the frunk, it works fine.
It also does not charge very fast too.
No matter what combination of cables I use, it just wont connect with a long USB cable when the Iphone is discharged.
Has any one used a powered USB hub on there spyder?
Thank you
JD

I use the LaMonster extension cable set and have the phone mounted to the dash with the RT dash bracket. I believe the USB power is just enough to keep the phone powered and I've noticed that with my phone at even 30%, after a few hours of riding it is almost 100%. I've also noticed that an almost dead battery will die if it's used while charging. I have a USB power outlet in the switch area that puts out more and charges better but doesn't connect to the dash system. I carry a solar portable charger so I can keep it charged so it doesn't die while riding.
