• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Long trips on a Spyder? When things go wrong...

You may not all know, but my F3 is a real lemon. I would like to take some long trips. But what if this thing dies a few hundred miles from home? Who do I call for help? Will Can Am roadside assistance haul a bike that far or do they choose the nearest repair shop?

Who do you call when something goes wrong with your car while you're a few hundred miles from home?

Sooooo agree

so what if you break-down.... it's the EXPERIENCE that counts....

JUST DO IT man.... i'm sure you've had 'mishaps' in your life, and you are still here to talk about them.... RIDE MAN RIDE, life is was too short not to.... worry not and ride with a smile on your face.....
SPYD3R

Because I daily, sometimes moment to moment, choose to live THIS experience, called life, to the fullest and a huge part of that is ryding my Spyder loooong distances..
.I spend sometime considering : What if (fill in the blank with whatever is concerning me) happens? How best to deal with. So let's take your example which I have thought of and actually experienced. Spyder or even my body breaks down many miles from 'anywhere'..I know that I have the best roadside coverage available to me for nationwide/Canadian travel {and it is NOT BRP roadside..for me my choice is Good Sam motorcycle} also I carry emergency stuff like tire patch (altho in April I proved that hitting a rock and breaking rim..it sure wasn't going to patch that!!); keep my cell phone charged and always have my SPOT tracker on...in case no cell service I can hit SOS button and they will send out the troops; also carry a space blanket, extra energy snacks, and toilet paper..if need be I can spend a night or two under the stars or wrapped in my rain gear:
As far as my roadside I clearly understand that I do not have to accept the nearest dealer...now my dealer of choice is Pitbull in Springfield, MO...I live in WA state...so it would be unreasonable for me to demand they take me to MO ... but not unreasonable for me to contact Spyderlovers and say broke down in ??? who is the best dealer tech ...yep had that happen in TN in 2012...closest dealer was 37 miles but SL's folks said NO WAY...but here is a great one 167 miles away...shared the info with my roadside agent and no issue. Or in the case of a fender strut breaking last year and a dealer close by...that dealer not willing to "rob" from a floor model...and I wasn't willing to wait 6 weeks for what he said would take BRP to get part to him...I contacted SL and said what do you recommend. Again the gurus came back...find a great welder and have him/her do this. I did (Can Am Dealer recommended him)..took him an hour and $100 of my money but I was back on the road in an hour. Now I could have chosen to throw a hissy fit...demand, blame and etc. but hey I'm on an adventure and how I handle deal with an issue is most important to my level of enjoying THE ADVENTURE..I also have experienced that if the dealer chooses, BRP will overnight parts to them to keep me on the road (yep that happened in St Joseph MO). So to keep this down to one page...attitude controls our altitudes and I choose to soar with the EAGLES and ryde, ryde, ryde my Spyder.

I have AMA because I am a member of that organization (Motorcycle not Dr) and I also have it with my Dairyland, These are both short distance hauls. For long distance stuff I have Allstate. The first 2 come as part of the package and the 3rd I pay for. Never used the Allstate had it for 4 years, used the AMA on the motorcycle a couple of times but never on the Spyder. I have put 15000 miles on my Spyder in a little over a year.

No fear....

Lose the negativity and carry basic needs. I have AAA but also have the "spyder codes" app which has JT"s listing of "spyders to the rescue". Fellow ryders offering assistance to the traveler like towing, lodging work areas etc. I find if you head out waiting for failure it usually happens if you must, plan your ryde with available dealerships along the way...

I am not scared, I just want to be prepared. The Spyder is a unique vehicle, so not every tow company will have the right equipment to haul it. Even with a two wheeler, a flat bed or trailer is required. So I want to be able to call a service that has access to the right tow company. And I want them to tow it to my house or iMotorsports even if I am hundreds of miles away.
