• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lock Replacement Freedom Trailer

We received a lock cylinder with our 2015 RT Limited and were told by the dealer that the lock could be switched out with the one on the trailer so that the same key could be used for both. We currently have the trailer apart to be painted and we have the lock assembly out but it appears that the cylinder is not meant to be changed out. Looks like there is a pin that is pressed into the end of the cylinder holding everything together. Anyone familiar with this?

I used this video for 622 replacement

This video was great when I did exactly what you are looking to do. The video is for a brp 622 but might be helpful.

Its fairly simple to change once you get the Lock plate out off the trailer which is the fun part. Just be careful not to loose the little ball & Spring! it cost me $5 to have locksmith remove cylinder from the plate.

On the 622 trailer is was easier to remove the whole lock mechanism. Once removed, you can replace the cylinder with ease after you remove the lock plate. The pin is accessed much easier. Be sure to have the old key in the cylinder when you're pressing the pin. Press, turn and pull.

Watched the video. The lock on the Freedom trailer is completely different and I'm not sure it is meant to be changed. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Dealer can change

If we don't hear back from any other freedom trailer owners on swapping out the cylinder, I'm sure the dealer could switch out the cylinders, or rekey the existing one to match your current key.

Taking a closer look, even if the lock set could be removed it appears that there is significant difference in the length of the cylinders. No big deal. Thanks to all for taking the time to respond.
