• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

List of known heat reduction mods with links.

Hi all! So I've spent the last week or so going through ALL the posts I could find that offer fixes for the heat issues with our Spyders. While I saved a link here or there, I realized there was no consolidated list of all the known modifications to help people find a fix that's best for them. Something like that would be very useful (especially for newbies), so here it is! Please post products you think would be helpful (with links if available), your experiences with any mods you've used (with pictures if possible), and I (or a helpful Moderator) will update this thread regularly so all the suggestions and links are in the first post for people looking for fixes for their heat problems.

I expect this list to get much larger as people contribute to it. Here are the few I know of to start:

I don't believe the Seal floorboards are a heat solution. It is the SpyderPops upper blockoff plate that is the solution to a lot of people's heat problems when using footpegs or the Seal FBs.

Dat. A big thing to consider in your quest for heat mods. What works in some parts of the country may be of no help to people living in the desert south west. fwiw

Again, good luck!

BRP adjustable air vents are a very good source of air manipulaion also, a little pricy at $159.00 but what on a Spyder is not Pricy.

Having installed and field tested the adjustable air vents. They do offer manipulation. That said, what I discovered is. If they are in position two or three and the spyder is running hot due to high ambient temps. They create a vacumn on the tupperware vents located below the mirrors, which in turn, at speed, directs all that heat onto the rider.

The seal floor boards do help a lot with heat, they block the heat from the cat and other area that cruel around and up. The block off plate is still required.

No links..!!

Some mods don't have links...perforating the bottom panels allows heat to move out and be extracted while moving. Many have removed the panels but I prefer to have the protection in place. Wrapping the pipe from cylinder to "y" joint also helps reduce heat. Reversing the air vent on the spyderpops air management system helps move the hot air faster. Great idea to gather all these mods for quick reference..

There are several different types of heat problems, some even caused by mods (such as floorboards or highway pegs). I would suggest that each person posting state the exact problem, the year and model, the changes made, and the results, if you are going to do this. Otherwise the thread is of limited value.

Updated with a couple more solutions. I know there's other stuff out there you folks might have seen... please let us know what you've come across!
