• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Since it is a new concept wouldn't it be great to make a list of common problems the Spyder has? Not in a negative way but in this way new users can be aware of what to expect or where to keep looking at in future.
Maybe this could be a sticky so we don't have to read a lot of messages, but see it in a glance.

- brake related problems (bulletin service- solved?)
- exhaust paint
- fuel smell
- brake squeeking
- engine heat right side (solved I thought)
- engine has to be shut down to access the trunk
- ...
- ...

X No Spyder in garage
X No idea when it'll be delivered

Maybe it would be good if all the owners quoted your post and put an X next to the issues they've had? I X'd off the last two because so far that's the only problems I've had with mine. ::)

An updated sticky at the top would be nice *hint*

Re: Common problems

Don't see where there are enough post or problems where there needs to be a sticky. By the way sticky post don't work that great anyway, people tend to look right past them.

Re: Common problems

Might i offer.................

Something like the pre delivery inspection list but with an addition....

Items that have arisen since the spyder has hit the street?

Re: Common problems

Exactly.

Since it is a new product all readers can benefit and know where to put
extra attention on.

Did BRP come up with a fix for the trunk leak or did you make something up yourself? and I'm assuming the brake sensor meant that the brakelight was coming on when it shouldn't......... or not at all?

I am collecting common problems to share what to watch for if you have a Spyder.
My Spyder will be delivered in April.
The leak in the trunk is in a few cases if the assembly of the trunk is not tight enough or the hook is not closing well. You can adjust the hook yourself easily (it should spring a bit when opening), I suggest to go to your dealer if you have other leaks. If the brake pedal sensor is malfunctioning (was also on my testdrive but that was a prototype) you get an error on the dashboard, but this doesn't affect any other systems and you can drive the vehicle. It's not affecting the brakes or the brake lights, only the parking brake. However case to case could be different so always check your dealer!

Ah, ok...... I was getting a little worried about another recall being in the works. I'm getting conflicting stories from my dealer about when I'm getting mine, either March or May...... no idea for sure...... I'd hate to get it after this long wait to only have to run it 200 miles back to them over a simple recall..... hopefully they're 100% now on the braking system.

Many motorcycles/cars have this so it's not unique to the Spyder...

Perhaps not, but there have been a lot of posts on several Spyder forums about brake noise, and it does sound like quite a few are unusually loud (not that this will stop me from buying one, mind you).

3 weeks old 610 miles brakes still squeel but not all the time. i havent had any other problems. the spyder is great and loads of fun for this 64 yo.

Brake release - I have trouble releasing the parking brake. Sometimes I have to put all of my 240# on it to release. Anyone else having this problem?

There was a post today on the Can-Am Talk forum from someone who had the same problem and used a little WD-40 on the release mechanism. He said it worked like a charm.
