• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My contribution

After a short ride today, my lovely missus suggested we try to find something to stop the heat from the right side. Even she was feeling it. We have a ride with our church coming up this Sunday, so when we got home I immediately did a search for Spyder heat deflector. The result showed the link to your project. As I was looking at it, the previously mentioned lovely missus was asking me if there was something I could do without buying something. So your project inspired me.

A quick search of my garage revealed an unused black plastic tray for a tool box. Some calculations indicated it could be used as a deflector, although not exactly as you had made. So, a multi-tool, Dremel tool, belt sander, and finishing sander later, I had my deflector. Its color is close enough to the black portion of the Spyder that it may look like it wasn't jury-rigged by me. But, I still need to attach it. I figure at least 4 screws on top and three on the bottom. But, how did you screw it in. I'm guessing some type of 90 degree drill/screwdriver and self-tapping screws?

Here's the pics of my project.

Glad you figured something out!
My material is only about 1/16" thk. so it was easy to just get a small pointed phillips head screw about 1/4" long and using a fat handled short screw driver, I just hand drove the 5 screws in. I did remove the black bottom scoop piece first which gave me some hand room.
