Link iPhone to Zumo 550 to Scala G4?

Looking for some tech advise while ryding my GS. I have a Scala G4 headset, Zumo 550 GPS and iPhone 5. I'd like to pair everything so I can listen to iPhone music but have the Zumo override with spoken instructions, the. Return to music automatically. I haven't found the right pairing combination/sequence, wondering if anyone had been successful in this combination?

I have a scala G9, and android. Not sure if that's close enough to your setup to give advice or not. For some reason the Scala's don't do that great pairing with phones (or possibly too many devices?) so I ended up pairing my phone to the Zumo and then the Zumo to the Scala and that allows me to use both my phone, and the zumo. I had the Zumo 550 with my RT but now I have a newer model Zumo (650?) and the new one will let me stream music from my phone though I don't do that because I use my iPod instead (paired directly to the scala). Sorry, I'm rambling...

Anyway... I have been able to successfully pair my ipod (let's assume that's similar to you pairing your iPhone) to the Scala to listen to music. Then when I have my Zumo connected, it will cut into the music and say something, and then after a pause it will cut back to my music. My current Zumo has music streaming from a paired device capability -- does the Zumo 550? If you can pair JUST the Zumo to your Scala and let the Zumo manage the swapping back and forth between functions, that is the easiest (and probably most consistent) option. I've never had issues when using my phone, and getting audible directions using just the zumo.

I've found that the order that you turn on/connect the devices seems to matter and it also can't handle too many devices at the same time because so far I have to choose between my husband and music. We've gotten the "music sharing" to work twice but then when one of us talked to override the music, it never went back to the music again. That may be what you're experiencing?

I've also noticed when the Zumo cuts into the connection between my husband and myself to give a direction, sometimes our connection doesn't come back immediately and one or the other of us has to press the front side button to restore our connection.
