limp mode today

my 15 rtl went into limp mode todat. the display showed a vss problem and the engine symbol was lit up. owners manual said take the key out and wait a bit. that seemed to make it happy but I'm many hundreds of miles from a dealer in wyoming. I may have hed my foot to close to the brake so could that be a cause. appreciat any pointers.

Pressure on the brake while you are accelerating will confuse the computer and anything is possible at this point, if this problem persists take it to your dealer.

Relax...

There are a variety of things that can set off the vss and check engine...I am starting to believe the check engine light comes on to keep any other light company...but if the computer re-sets and all goes away it was a glitch and will be stored in the computer for the techs to see next time in. I have has the vss go of from ryding a long sweeping banked turn then disappeared....:dontknow: if it comes back then you need it checked out....

I'm on a two week multi thousand mile trip. I hope it behaves untill I get close to a dealer.

If you behave and keep your foot off the brake it probably will behave. :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:
