• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"Limp Home"

Bummer..!!

sadly many things. You would need more information to diagnose. What lights on the dash came on..what message scrolled across the screen..what codes were given etc. There is an app for this. Download to your phone or computer. My spyder for apple and spyder codes for android. As a new ryder things like ryding with your foot on the brake can cause this. Try the "key walk" remove the key and walk away for a few minutes then restart. If all is well then the code, if any, is stored and at service the buds system can tell you but you will be good to go..check all fluids to be sure...

did you make a sharp turn, were you riding the brake, did you over rev, there are so many things that can cause it

try turning it off and removing the key, walk away with the key at least 20 feet for at least 5 minutes. When you come back to it and it starts then you need to look at some of the suggestions above such as don't ride with your foot resting on the brake. Don't wash your Spyder with a hose and get all the electricals wet, be sure your battery connections are tight. Be sure to come back and let us know if this works.

If you will retrieve the codes, folks here can tell you what is going on and what if anything needs to be done.

Limp Home Mode

The dealer is picking it up today.

Thanks to all above.

I'll let you know the results.

Rode Harley's the last 30 years.
Enjoying the heck out of the Can-Am.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ride.

Hope the dealer gets it figured out for you.

The mention of riding the brake does come up a lot. New :spyder2: riders sometimes do this. It happened to me on my 2010 while I was breaking in a new pair of boots. My foot was touching the brake and the limp mode reared its ugly head after a few miles.

limped home

The dealer picked the Spyder up yesterday. Tech started it. Computer showed , running hot.
Hope to know something later today.

The limp home mode came on on mine two days ago for the first time in three years. All I did was ran over the rumble strip on the side of the highway while pulling off to the shoulder of the highway. The DPS came up and went into limp mode. I shut the engine off, waited 30 sec. ,restarted and all was good. Checked codes and nothing indicated so all is well.

Loose wire. Point it out to your dealer next time it is in.
