• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lifting Spyder

I want to remove the front wheels from my RS. Where is the best place to put the hydraulic floor jack under ? Would you use the same frame piece that you use to lift the rear, only closer to the front ? And where do you then put the jack stands to leave it raised ?

Thanks in advance !!!

LIFTING THE FRONT

I'm lucky I have three floor jacks....I use two to raise the spyder in the front....I put a small piece of 2x4 on the jack pad to span the lower suspension A arm and slowly raise it.....I am also doing this on the opposite side simultaneously a little at a time untill it's at the hight I want.....It could be done by jacking it in the middle very very carefully if you have someone to help you....they could jack while you balance the spyder and push boards under the wheels as you raise it....on second thought , three people would be better for this....one to jack, one to balance ,one to place wood......Mike.....

Craftsman motorcycle lift

I have a craftsman motorcycle lift. Anyone used one to lift a spyder? If so, where was the placement, procedures etc? Dale

I use a Craftsman motorcycle ATV lift all the time. Slide in from the side, making sure you are on the horizontal part of the frame. I usually go just behind the splash guard with the RT, but location depends on the model and cargo distribution.

I have an RTS also which side do you slide it in from? I notice on the right side is where the exhaust and cat. converter are located. Will this lift up the entire bike and hows the stability? Thanks Dale

I slide it in from the right, to access the oil filter, etc. on the left. You need to be sure you have the pads ahead of the cat converter, no matter which side you slide in from. Stability is marginal, it won't fall off, but it will wobble around if you don't use jack stands to stabilize the Spyder for any extended or strenuous work, or if you will be underneath it, or have the wheels off.
