• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lifter noise??

Hi folks... I have just noticed a new noise when our RT-S is first started up. It sounds like the lifters have no oil at all. It's quite a racket, noticable from several yards. My wife actually asked what that noise is when she was standing nearby. It only lasts a second or two, so I believe it's oil pressure related, but I know it's never made noise like that before. Any ideas? It only has 5,000 mi. and the oil level is fine.

I think I would be making a call to my dealership. I have gone as long as a week between starting and it still sounds well lubricated with no abnormal noises. That can't be normal.

Lifter noise

I had that happen to mine as well but only once. My tech guy said it might be the cam chain adjuster, seems that it is a hydraulic unit. Now because of memory it might have been my GS not the RT but can't be sure. Same engine so same noise. it was cold and not ridden in about a week at the time and now that I am talking about it, it was my GS model. I switched to 10w40 oil after that and my RT has 10w40 in it as well.

Its a little early for you, but check your Y-gaskets. Mine let loose today and they have the same rattling sound for just a bit when I first start it up. After its running, they still leak but its not as noisy.
