Lift placement for RT

I am sure this has been addressed, but I could not find it. I noticed in one of the pictures from SpyderFest someone was installing the ELKA shocks with the lift placed under the front of the Spyder instead of from the side. Where exactly do you put the lift to only lift the front off the ground? I have the exact lift shown in the picture, but do not know what it should be contacting under the machine. Thanks in advance for the help.

I just slide mine in the center from the front with the pads about center of the wheels and jack away. If I want to lift the whole bike up I do as Lamont shows in the link.

I always just grab mine from the belly and lift...but I've never had a need for the rear tire to stay put with the fronts going for the vertical ride.
