• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have it back, haven't installed it yet. worried about the cold, and snapping plastic. Still a couple months before I think about it

Hey Lew. I'm just on the other side of the Sierra's from you tucked up close to the west side of Mt. Lassen. If I ever get close to you again I'll let you know and stop by and say Hi. We get to Tahoe and Reno at least once a year each.

Mt Lassen is one of the trips for next summer. Been wanting to walk around Bumpass Hell for a few years. Bike problems ( water pump and suspension air leaks) curtailed some of this years trips ) Problems are all fixed now. I've learned a lot about what is under the tupperware.

Sad, the Dixie fire took care of about 80% of Lassen Park. With the fire a few years ago and this fire Lassen is pretty much toast. However, I read where the south entrance was open up to the summit parking lot which would give you access to Bumpass. Fortunately, Bumpass was not burned. The reason is nothing is there to burn. The newly installed walkways were left untouched. They named it Bumpass Hell because an early explorer named Bumpass fell through the crusty surface layer near the mud pots and burnt off one of his legs. So stay on the walkways for sure.
