• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let's see those toyhaulers!!

After seeing the toyhauler recently listed for sale, I figured here must be others out there that have some neat way of hauling their Spyder and also having some living facilities. Below are a few pics of the one I built. Sorry, I don't have any pics of the Spyder in the back garage, but there is my Seadoo jet boat!
It only took four years and two trips to the emergency room.
Let the questions begin!

You can tell by all the tools and junk in the one pic that this was built in my driveway and when it starts snowing in northern Ohio, you just tend to throw everything inside out of the weather and dance around it until the spring thaw comes....

Nice job very professionally done:bowdown::firstplace: . The last picture explains why your boat fits in your toy hauler, cause its one big toy hauler.:clap:

More, more!!

Let's see more!

The wife and I are thinking about traveling a bit in the future with either our bikes or spyder. We are currently deciding between either a truck/toyhauler combo or a class C motorcoach with trailer. I'm leaning towards the latter, since the trailer ramp is lower than the ramp angles in some of the toyhaulers we've seen and the overall length might be shorter.

Here are some of the numbers on my rig:
44 feet long
Garage is almost 19 feet
30,000 BTU of A/C with heat pumps
40,000 BTU forced air ducted furnace
4000 watt Xantrex inverter/charger (can be off the grid up to a week)
80 gallon fresh water capacity
120 gallon waste water capacity
14 gallon propane/electric hot water
50 amp electric service
60 pounds of propane storage
800 watts of Pioneer home stereo with satellite radio
HD Cable TV to two TV's
All cabinets are solid oak and made on site
All countertops are Corian
10 jet full body shower with stereo speakers in shower
Minimum 3.5 inches inches of insulation in all walls, floor and ceiling
Queen Serta mattress
3000# winch in garage to pull boat into garage (also used to secure Spyder)

Here are a couple more pics. That is a custom graphics wrap on the exterior. Used to be all black. I have been asked to build one for a buddy....ain't gonna happen! Many hours and many trips to Elkhart, IN to get parts from the surplus stores. This thing is just a Spyder...we have to give tours and answer questions wherever we go. I am usually asked what I am hauling. My usual response is "radioactive waste" or "go-go girls". That gets me some strange looks.

The tow rig is a 2011 Chevy 3500 LTZ crew cab dually with the Duramax Diesel and Allison transmission. Just set the cruise at 70 and go!

Nice job. very nice!:clap:What is the weight and what do you pull it with?

That is really nice !!!!!!! Great job. I built one from scratch like you but it is nowhere as big or as nice as that one. Fantastic !!!!!!!

I hope to God you are required to have a CDL licence to haul a 44' trailer around. I would not want an average Joe out on the road with that monster. nojoke

The loaded weight is right around 18,000#. It tows like a dream. Will be hauling it with the Spyder in the back all the way to Texas in a few weeks.

No CDL required. I had it re-titled as an RV and as such no CDL is required.

All of the cabinets and moldings were made from rough cut lumber that we milled ourselves.

Wow.... thats amazing you don't need a CDL. With your truck attached, your almost as long as a 18 wheeler. :yikes:

Regardless, your work is top notch. I'm to embarresed now to even think about showing my homeade toyhauler ever again.... :roflblack:

Yup...almost as long. :)
