This is so unfortunate...

It's as much an expression of the general anger "out there" about the seemingly light sentence handed down. I agree, the judge should not be recalled, but I think that folks are right about 4xpressing anger over such a cavalier attitude toward a horrendous crime.

He gets six months for "20 minutes of action". She has to live with it for the rest of her life. Is it just me, or is there something not right here? My opinion, the judge got it wrong. A very good friend of mine is a federal judge in NY, and believe me, he would have sent this punk away for the maximum time allowed.

I watched the news this morning, and they had a legal advisor on. He made the comment about the attacker being affluent and white, and also the judge attended the same college, and that that is what has brought about the uproar. He agreed the sentence was too lenient; but, he stated the judge should not be recalled. He also stated recalls are not done based on Internet petitions.

My opinion is, the judge is an idiot. I believe I heard on the same newscast that his term in office is ending. Hopefully he won't be reelected.

The offender now has a precedence in his mind that he can get away with whatever he wants to do with very little consequences.

Six months in jail compared to the "usual" 10 plus years in most places for the same offense? Something is very wrong here.

The judge should be investigated to see what bribe or bribes were given.
