• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let’s start a fad - passing Spider Rings (from Amazon) to other Spyders

Jeeps pass ducks to other jeeps. I’m trying to pass spider rings (Amazon) to other Spyders, if I see one, which I haven’t. 😎. So far, 4 young boys, and it made them happy. I have several hanging on the bike… they all stay on!
New 2025 RTL. Love it!

Thoughts?

Why bells instead of spiders?
Probably trying to be like the old Gremlin Bells from a long time ago. The story was that if a friend gave you a Gremlin Bell as a gift and you attached it under the frame some place, then it would keep the Gremlins away. If you bought your own Gremlin Bell and put it on your bike, it would not work. Story said it had to be a gift for it to work. A better idea was to just keep your bike in good repair and the Gremlins usually stayed away.

The aftermarket sellers on the web sold a lot of the 'official' Gremlin Bells.

I remember that. I still have my Gremlin Bell on my current Spyder.

Why?? Cos that Gremlin Bell thing is something that's already happening, and has been slowly bubbling away since about the end of WW1, so there's literally millions of them already out there and it's a 'known thing', not something that few will likely be exposed to &/or understand in the short term. ;)

Not that that's a reason for not actually trying to bring in a 'new fad' for Spyders, but you should be aware that you wouldn't only be starting a new fad, you'd also be fighting over 100 years of established precedence for many. :sneaky: Still, it's not impossible, even if it is somewhat unlikely, except maybe on a small & probably fairly local scale. 😁

I have had a gremlin bell on every motorcycle I have had in the last 25 years. It was given to me by a friend in a Texas based MC when I was back many years ago at the ROT Rally

I got this from a fellow ryder in Pa., she gave them out to everyone when we were on a group ride.

I put it next to a bic mini lighter to show its size.

She said everyone needs a little Jesus in their lives.

Besides my gremlin bell, I now keep this in my stash bag I bring with me for good luck.
