Left Multi-function Switch replacement

I have a friend with a 2013 RT-L with a defective Left Multi-function Switch. The MODE button is continually activated. The bike can start and run and all other functions on the switch work. I have confirmed the MODE button is ON continually by monitoring it with my BUDS system.

Question is; has anyone out there replaced the Left Multi-function Switch themselves? The wires run deep into the bowels of the handlebar and appear to come out on the left side of the bike. I have a Green manual which normally is very good, but this time there is no specific procedure for replacement.

I will appreciate it if someone can give me some guidance here.:shocked:

Keith, have you tried to "free up" the mode switch itself? Could just be stuck contacts. If it can't be fixed, the change-out shouldn't be that bad. Call me if you need more ideas. Worst case would be to remove the frunk and/or the main console itself. I did this on my 2015 to install the Tri-Axis Bars. It wasn't as bad as it looks.

Brett, the MODE contacts are buried in the housing. The contacts I can see are enclosed in plastic membranes or behind epoxy. I've ordered a new housing. I'm sure I'll give you a call when the part gets here. Thanks.
