• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LED's

Has anyone used the 6 Watt Led bulbs sold by Custom Dynamics that are claimed to replace the MR16 Halogen bulbs currently used with the BRP fog lights. The BRP fog lights seem to pull a ton off the battery and would consider the Custom Dynamic LED'S if they would work as driving lights.
Would appreciate anyone

Although not on our site yet we too sell these.

They are very bright indeed and match the look of HID head lights if you have those, as these are about 6500K heat range.

They will not throw the light as far out as your stock units do, but will have a much closer flood light effect.

They will use less current than the stock fogs do for sure.

I just don't see how this is going to fit in brp's foglight housing as a direct replacement. It would be great if it did thou.

I'm not sure for replacement ether as these replace M16 bulbs. I did not think the RT used M16 in the fogs. :dontknow:

I thought they were one of the H series bulbs.

Do you know what the bulb is for the RS with the aftermarket BRP fog lights?

Fogs are h8 and there are few supposedly super bright led bulbs available in 6000k or 8000 including 120 bucks one from piaa to 25 dollar generic. They are mostly advertised as replacement for 55w fogs for BMW but they are so low draw, some as low as 1.75w they should be fine.

Thanks for the info! That gives me something else to look into now.

More??? I gotta buy stock in lighting mods for Michael's Spyder.:roflblack: Oh yea forgot, when buying for one better plan on two.:roflblack::roflblack::D

:roflblack: In this case it would not be more, but just modifying what is already there in an attempt to reduce my overall power consumption. UFO's tend to suck up a lot of juice. :roflblack:

I am planning to replace my 2009 SE5 headlight OEM bulbs by PIAA Extra White ones, but cannot find the specs for the BRP ones.

Anybody has that info or knows where to get it...? :dontknow:

If negative, I will have to remove cluster and some tupperware to reach those and find out what kind they are... :yikes:

Thanks in advance, Pilo

H7. Don't waste your money on PIAA's. Get HID's

:agree:
H7. Don't waste your money on PIAA's. Get HID's

HID's only draw 35 watts (once they are running) as compared to 55 for the halogens (Thats 40 watts saved!) and they are like having Aircraft Landing Lights!

I have HID's in both Headlights and fogs. I can make a squrill's eyes shine at 2 miles!
If properly adjusted (on low beam) they dont bother anyone.

LED's are cool for accent lighting but you are not going to be happy with the light output.

If you go with HID's get 5000 or 6000K for the headlights and try 3000K for the fogs for a nice euro yellow fog light look that will get you noticed.
(IMHO)
