• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LED strips on the bumpskid

IMO one of the issues is the Chinese dumping sub par LEDs on manufactures that were getting premium LEDs. It's not easy to test for that problem.

I think that installing them where the bumpskid and the tupperware meet, leaving a little room for expansion and contraction is the best solution. You can buy the strips 5m for <$20, use a plug and if they fail its cheap and easy to replace.
That's what I did. Has worked great for 2+ years now.

 I had installed my new Bumpskid right before SpyderFest (6 Months ago...)
Yesterday; half of it was out...
I guess that I'll have to get in touch with Harvey, and buy a new string of lights.
Does anyone know how much they are?

Lighted Bumpskid

That's what I did. Has worked great for 2+ years now.

I did the same thing only with the knightrider LED from TricLed, mounted above the bumpskid is more protected and using the knightrider I have a variety of flash patterns for parades or steady on for general use, it has worked flawlessly.

I don't know that much about stuff like this, but when mine went out it was the whole string. Well I thought it has to be a wire loose...so I ran the wire from where is connected at the fender till I got to the bumpskid. When I got right to the corner where the wire and the LED meet they came on. The short or loose connection was right there. When I got the new ones and started to remove the old one, the wire came right off. After looking at it, the connection is so so small, that I can see how it fails there with all the heat variations, vibrations, and the like. A chain is only as strong as the weakest link, and I believe that is it. I would love to see an end on the LED Strip that has some sort of connector. I think that may solve some of the issues. That's my .02 cents.....and I didn't charge you a thing !
