There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What model of headlights replace the standard bulb?
is it the 9005 only? Is there other models?
will the LED light also do the high beam?

Thanks

LED HEADLIGHTS

I have a 2014 RTS-SE6 & I have the #9005 LED Headlights. Yes, it does high beams. Sorry no pictures of my spyder with the "high beams" on. My spyder is still in hibernation.

I had the led's & fog lights replaced last year, the right front headlight was not working.

I'm sure someone on this site who has the #9005 Led headlights will chime in, with pictures, so you can see. Deanna

The high and low beam on an RT are the same. BRP uses a shutter system to close off part of the lens for low beam and then it opens up the whole way for the high beams, that is why it makes the noise it does when you switch between low and high beam.

I have tried several different LED's and the light is poor due to the shutter. I just ordered the ones form Tricled and am hoping they are better.

The #9005 and the HB3 are the same size ...... If you buy regular HALOGEN bulbs for some reason HB-3 bulbs cost more ......... The new LED headlight bulbs they sell are FAR superior to Halogen's for many reasons ..... Mike

:agree: +1 for the TricLED LED Headlight bulbs, Tremendous improvement over the original bulbs, simple install, no modifications needed. (Well, as simple as Spyder rT headlight changes can be...:sour:

LEDs

:agree: TricLED IS the way to go... easy to install, but for the first timer, it takes a little time for the confidence to build... Go for them and just do it!

So really how hard is it to change them out. I have a set of the TRICLED headlights and was going to get someone to do it for me. I am new to all this mind you I did do my first oil change and air filter change last week without a problem.

Rookie Spyder, if you've done that oil and filters change, you can do the headlight change. My hands are not small enough to do the foglight change with the frunk on the bike, so I removed my Frunk to allow easy access to the fogs.
I think the hardest part of that was remembering the proper order connecting the wiring and frunk release back up before closing up.

Now you have just convinced me to let someone else to do the change.

Check out out the TricLED website for install video and here Lamont has an install video as well. It is time consuming, but if you did oil and filter, headlights are a no brained for yòu to venture into. Good luck:bowdown:

IF you're JUST doing HEADLIGHTS you can easily do that yourself. AND as others have said, you can watch a few Youtube videos and save yourself some money.

Doing the foglights FOR ME, required the frunk removal, MANY folks with smaller hands do it without Frunk removal. I felt exactly the way you did before several other Spyder folks convinced me that it really wasn't that hard to remove and replace the frunk FOR ME to get at the foglights.
Just to give you my perspective, I still haven't changed my own air filter, and you're halfway there doing an oil and filter change....;)

I have tackled my LED headlights. My question is does the machine have to be running after I have installed one or can I just turn the key on. I tried turning just the key but no headlights. I can not start it because I am waiting for my gold plugs to come in the mail. I had a little problem with the OME plug so it has no oil in it now.

All of the Spyders that I know of are designed to NOT have the headlites come on until after it starts ..... The OEM headlites are Halogen and have a Power draw ..,... so this is a safety feature .....and Yes they stay on for about 30 seconds after you shut it off................... Mike

Dumb question though .. TricLed lights

.. when ordering the TricLed LED headlight replacements --- they DO come as a pair ?

I was scammed one time only on an E-bay order many years ago; I never forgot it :opps:

I "chatted" to Cindy at Tric and still await a reply - thought I may get one here first.

Get the ones from Lamonster Garage, thank me later. Yes both Tric and Lamont sell them in pairs.
