• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Latest Update(steering)from dealer

My spyder is still f****d

I have waited three weeks to get my spyder dps/steering issue resolved.
Went to pick it up today and got 8 miles (out of 60) before it went into limp mode . Brought it back to the shop and they re-installed the dps , drove it 18 miles and had 4 codes come up. The tech went over the dps, the sas and the torque sensor(?). It's 5:30 and I have been here since this morning.
I wanted to have this vehicle as my primary mode of transportation. :gaah:

Just a thought, but maybe the BRP employee (s) monitoring this forum can't come forward because by doing so they would "blow" their cover and the other members might see that perhaps some of the positive posts about the steering delima were actually made by them. Carlos...please tell us what your handle is .........curious minds would like to know.

Who do YOU work for?

Depends a lot on you, your comfort level, and your feelings about your ability to handle such situations. The number of failures has been small, compared to the number of Spyders, so the odds are with you. Some of the incidents have been real nail-biters, though. Only you can assess your feelings about those two opposite facts. My wife and I personally have chosen to continue to ride, and we even bought a second Spyder. To me the plusses outweigh the minuses...but that's only me, and I can't advise you which decision to make.

I see the torches are still on fire and the mob is heading to Canada :roflblack:.

There is no 'conspiracy' or BRP 'scam' going on folks---- geesh.

Aren't there better ways to get exercise than by jumping to conclusions?;)

Scotty I agree "the odds are with you" on this issue. Life is all about beating the odds for as long as we can and doing so without living in a Glass Bubble. Most of us have beaten the odds for a long time just due to the fact that we even ride motorcycles.nojoke Eventually the odds will catch all of us, for whatever reason; Just hope later than sooner.

No power steering

I had DPS issues and the dealer told me there was no code or any problems, but when they drove it there was no power steering either. They were at a loss.

Turned out it was a ground issue. The dealer had did a poor job of connecting the battery and the ground terminal had worked loose so I would lose the DPS due to a ground problem. Never gave a code. I connected the ground on the battery and it worked fine after that. Carried it to the dealer several months later for an oil leak and found out my 18 month old battery was shot. No kidding, it was a wonder it lasted that long.
