• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guess I might as well start mine now. I worked on the Spyder till 10:30 last night and woke up wide awake at 2:30am ready to roll. I hope I can get some sleep tonight as BajaRon and I are pulling out at 4am Monday morning. I know I won't be sleeping Sunday night

Part of the fun of a trip like this is getting ready to go. We spent a lot of time working on Ron's Spyder and I think he's good to go now. He finally got his cruise control working and mounted up the way he likes it. That was a 4 day project along with a few other mods like more No Magic lights. :doorag:

I'm bringing my trailer of course and have packet enough tools to do some pretty major repair if needed. I figure if I bring enough stuff I won't need any of it. :D

I changed out my water temp gauge yesterday and turns out I have a bad gauge.:gaah: The sending unit is not the same as the old gauge so I had to swap it out for the old sending unit. When I did that I went ahead and drained all the coolant and added some Water Wetter to the system. Installed the old sending unit and put the wire on and I knew it didn't feel right when I tightened it up. Sure enough my sending unit is bad:gaah: and I don't have time to order a new one and get it here before I leave. :sour:
Not a big deal but I will have to drain the coolant and fix it when I get back.

All I have left to do now is install some of the cool new billet Spyder pegs from No Magic and I'll be ready to go. I did some adjustments on my CHAD and worked on a few other things just to perfect the long ride ahead. :doorag:

I'll be posting the videos on YouTube and my MobileMe account and I think I'll use SmugMug for most of the pictures because I can GeoTag those so you can see where the pics were taken on a map. :doorag:

Here's the link for the videos on MobileMe

When you look at a picture you'll see a Tool Bar above, click on the "Map This" link and it will show you where the picture was taken.

I'll use this post to document the rest of the trip if you want to follow it. :doorag:

I got some sleep last night but I had some bad pizza that's been tearing me up all day today.:(

Got up and packed a few more things before church. Went to church and remembered it was Fathers Day. This was the first Fathers Day that I didn't have a Father to call. My Dad passed Oct. 10 of last year. Once again I was reminded how much I miss him.

Got home and decided to do a once over on the Spyder and make sure I had everything ready to go. Got that done and decided to set my clock on the Spyder. Well I got the clock set but somehow I switched it to metric and I can't get it back for nothing. When I hold down the S button nothing happens. :gaah: Guess I'm riding to Hollywood in killometers.:sour:

So then I run to town to top off the tank and when I get back I shot a little video to upload. I went to do it wifi but my internet was all hosed up. I called Comcast and we found that it was a router issue and not a Comcast issue. So they gave me the numer to Linksys.

I call Linksys and after being on hold for 20 min. I get some Indian guy (dot not feather) and I swear he was just sitting there laughing at me till I decided to sak for someone else. He says he'll transfer me and that's when the call dropped.:gaah: I call back and get this realyy sweat gal and she spends two hows with me fixing everything. I had to give her remote access to my computer and pay 10 bucks but it was well worth it. Turns out my boy is the one who caused all the problems when he hooked up another router. :chill:

So now I'm back online and ready to finish up the details and head out this morning at 4 am. I did post a little video just before everything went to pot.

Happy Fathers Day :doorag:

Ryde SAFE and remember ..... don't ryde faster then your guardian angel can fly! Have a great time, take LOTS of pictures.

Thanks to Roaddog2 I got my gauge fixed last night. Turned out the magnet in the button had popped out and that's why it wouldn't switch modes. Thanks Bro :doorag:

Well the time is hear. I said goodbye to my family about 11:30 last night and went to bed. My son Nathan has been here for the last few days and will be deployed in a few days to the sandbox. It was hard to say goodbye to him as I'm not sure when I'll see him again and I worry about him there.

I set my iphone alarm to 3:20 and I woke up at 3:19....that was cool. :doorag:

Next stop Oklahoma. :yes::2excited:
So what are the chances of the "Late" BajaRon showing up on time?
