• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Lamonster RTW Project- X-Grip by RAM

In this video I was calling it an X-mount but the real name is X-Grip. My buddy Reggy told me about them and it was perfect for what I wanted to do with it. I still like having my iphone setup on the RT for different reasons and the problem with most of the mounts for a phone is they are made to be used without a case. That was a pain to take the case off just to be able to mount it in a holder. I'm using a LifeProof case now and there's no way I want to pull the phone out of this case. You can read about that here Lamont, you big dummy :banghead:

So anyway the X-Grip by RAM is going to work great and it can be used to hold just about anything including your camera. :doorag:

Great Mount Lamont, I had watched your video on how to mount iphone before on your old RT and used that method. But I had the OtterBox on my iphone so when designing mine Xgrip was what I had to use. This works great and can be used for other devises as well.

Hey Lamont, I'm thinking about ordering the X-Grip for my RT - are you still happy with yours?

I have the 3" Ram mount RAM-B-149ZU1.jpg but am not sure which piece I need to mount it to the RT. Can you tell me what Ram part number your ordered?

Thanks!
Anita

Very nice Lamont

I use the Ram mount ball mounts with the hole thru it so you can mount it on any existing bolt location (alto for some locations you will need to find a longer bolt to replace the original)

but I have the drink holder on one side and the X-Grip mounted on the other side for my iPhone (the speaker grill is off because at the time I took this picture, I was also in the process of relocating the iPod connector from the rear trunk forward, as well as installing a lighter plug type mount)
