• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Laminar lip for Spyder, anyone try it yet.

Laminar lip has a lip for our Spyder http://www.laminarlip.com/caspyder.php has anyone tried it. I hate the noise wind hitting me while on the highway and I got one of the F1 screen that does a great job but now I do not like the look of this big screen and want a smaller one but don't want the wind hitting me.

I spoke with a guy at Laminar in Santa Ana, CA a while back to see if they tested the Laminar Lip on a CHAD. They had not, but if someone would take their Spyder to their business they could measure it up and either recommend an existing model, or perhaps craft one for the CHAD.

I'm 6'2" and I get great protection from the wind, but way too much noise when it's all the way up. I need another 2-3" (maybe 4") of clearance.

I tried the BRP "touring " screen. No good for me (6ft with 3" risers)

I then added a Laminar Lip - not much better at all - still does not work for me.

I then tried CHAD - now thats better - not perfect but better.

Now I have the Madstad System http:// www.robobrackets.com

Love it :2thumbs: For me this works much better.

IMHO this is better looking and suits the Spyder more than CHAD and even though it is smaller it performs soooo much better. :2thumbs:

Also here in Australia the Madstad system is hundreds of dollars cheaper than CHAD.

Yup, I love my Robobrackets as well.

I have a Laminar Lip installed on my 23" Ultra Touring Windshield and it works very well. I would be better off with it on a 25" model but that wasn't available when I got mine. I am 6'8"+ and the air stream used to hit me in the neck/chin- now it goes o ver my head. Well made, worth every penny.

I have one -- but, their instructions suggest at least 70 degrees for installation. So, I will install next spring or summer. I don't even keep my house at 70 degrees in heating season.

I have the 25" BRP UltraTouring. It is far better for me than the BRP Touring. The wind with the 25" just hits the top of my helmet. I am 5' 6" and have the HeliBar riser -- so I sit taller than someone else of the same height.

I am hoping this lip deflects the air up just another 2" or so -- or at least changes the curve on the bubble upward.

I have a Laminar Lip --- not using it since I installed the CHAD - but I'm only 5'8".

My take on the lip---- it works pretty good - but you better have a taller shield (than the BRP ones) to attach it to.

I had mine installed on the CalSci XL and it really worked pretty good --- just didn't like the whole look.

It would attach to the CHAD without a problem - and should help things. Not sure about the F1 because those are pretty wavy to begin with.

They would probably work well on the new BRP shields as well.

As someone that's had many shields out there on their bike --- I would save the $80 and get a CHAD --- or maybe the MADSTAD .
