• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kuryakyn ISO grips removable?

I would like a pair of Kuryakyn ISO grips but don't want to waste the money on another pair if I decide to add ESI risers. Could they be removed without damage?

I have the ISO grips and I recently changed my risers. I had no problem removing them. So I would say you'd be okay.

I have the ISO grips and the ESI risers. They are compatible. I guess I don't understand the problem.

The problem is in the removal of the grips if they were glued on per the instructions. When the ISO grips were originally installed I had spiral wrapped the handlebar with vinyl electrical tape to tighten the fit, and then applied the glue and slid the grips into place.

To remove, I used a piece of 0.010" shim stock to slide between the rubber part of the grip and the handlebar. Add a little WD-40 to lube and help with the release. Once removed I peeled off the epoxy from the inside of the grip. They reinstalled quite nicely but were a pain to get everything loose and cleaned.

I would like to put the ISO grips on my stock bars. If I decide later to install ESI risers, I want to know if I can remove the ISO's easily from the stock bars and reuse on the ESI kit. I'm trying to avoid buying another set of ISOs if I am unable to remove and reuse.

Spiral wrap bar with electrical tape until the grips fit tightly. Don't use glue. You should have no problems removing them when you want.

waiting to put mine on

Just got my set of Kurakyn ISO's off Ebay too! Saved some cash to help ease the pain of my next acquisition of Kewl Metal adjustable risers. A little pricey I think, but something I feel will satisfy me. I guess it only hurts once on a nice upgrade like risers, then you have something that makes the ride more comfortable forever.
