• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kriket Belt Tension gauge tests 160 lb

Just got the guage today from Amazon and tested my RT belt at three diff spots on the floor, not jacked up, and it measured 160 at each spot. Seems I read others say about 140 seemed right. Is this correct? Should I loosen mine slightly?

If the belt is tracking properly and your not getting belt vibrations I would leave it alone. Especially if this was set by your dealer. If you loosen it up it may cause belt vibrations and your belt may not track correctly. Just my opinion...

Just had mine checked by the dealer last week and the tech said it was in spec on the tight side. It shows 180 on the Kriket belt tension gauge . [h=2][/h]

My 09GS was re done by the dealer shortly after the Bulletin and measures 140 (On the ground) with the Krikit.
Since then the #s were lowered even further? Some posts indicate maybe 120-130 is better on the Krikit with the New Lowered Standards BUT I,m happy with 140.

Perhaps the way to view the reading on the Kriket, is that as long as you're not having any problems with yoru belt, keep an eye on the tension and watch out for changes in it...

I will be doing the inspection this weekend when I install the CB. What is the best proceedure to make the belt tension test (with the Kriket II). Do you test the lower belt etc.?

Regards,

Randy

I think 180 was the old spec. The I run mine at 155 and have no problems with over 3,000 miles on the lower number. That's IMHO.
