• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key for the F3

Hi

is the key design for the F3 the same as other models?

I am just concerned that over time the condom like holder that you push the key into will eventually wear out and result in a lost key... If this is the same a past years, is this an issue?

I have a OEM holder that I have been using for 3 years and still have not lost a key. I don't think this is an issue.

there is a hole already in the key.
you just have to open it up, carefully

Huh?

I'm new to the Spyder world and do not understand what you mean by an OEM holder?

Would appreciate more detail.

Thanks!

Little checking..!!

you will find several solutions to your doubts. I have used the oem sheath for years but always carry a spare. Never had any problems. There are many nice holders for the can am keys now cause if you don't get or find the hole in it you could damage the chip and the key will no longer work. I think the idea of having it on a lanyard around the neck keeps from adding it to a bunch of keys banging up the bars as well as putting your keys in your pocket then throwing your jacket in the frunk and locking the key inside...:dontknow:

Here is my fix

google BMW silicone key cover on ebay, about ten dollars shipped. multiple colors

black one is on my lanyard with key inserted, Orange is the way you buy it in what ever color you select.

Nice! And there was no drilling involved?
That is good to know, because I'm really paranoid about losing the key!
Well, on the other hand... 80% of the time I forget to take it out of the ignition and then I'm paranoid that it'll get stolen [emoji12]

Have never had the OEM key holder go bad. I do not carry it as a dangling key chain though. It stays in my pocket.
