• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key Duplication

Here's what he says about this matter...

I think they can be cloned with the proper cloner and cloneable chip;
I have neither.

The 2008 thru 2013 models have a TP04 chip that I can clone onto my
TP05 cloneable chips. Your 2014 model has a TP12 Crypto chip and
requires a newer type cloner and the proper cloneable chip.

The key blanks I sell come with no chip and I insert a TP05 chip
before cloning them. The same key blanks can be used for your Spyder
except a different chip needs to be inserted before cloning your key.
I suggest you go to a large automotive locksmith that may have the
correct chip and cloner.

If you need the key blanks without the chip installed, I will sell
them to you for half price or $10 each. You can then insert the
proper chip (easy) and clone your key onto them if you can find a
locksmith that can do the job.

Your key will go out today. Thanks, John

Thanks BOB. That's what I was looking for.

Not as easy to clone.

This is the info I found.
So the chip in the key is a Philips Crypto TP12 so to clone it you need to get a TPX3/4 chip.
I found the instructions for cloning and like before you have to read the info on the key but also sniff the output data from the ignition switch also. So the vehicle has to be present to make the clone.

Took mine to hardware store this morn and he first the check the dupe on his reader and said "its a rolling code", I'll need to check it against your motorcycle key. We proceeded out to parking lot, he inserted my OEM key and some sort or electronic gadget into the switch, but alas, his gadget wouldn't read the code. Since the shank on mine was shorter than the OEM and couldn't be pushed down far enough to open the frunk .

We need to find a dealer that will do a group buy to get a good discount. Tom :trike:
