Just returned from a Route 66 ride - Fantastic Trip!

Just returned from a trip from Toronto, Ontario Canada to Chicago and onto Route 66. Out to Santa Monica with a few side-trips to places like Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Roswell, and Vegas and then up to San Fran and back through Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, etc.
Just over 7000 miles. Fantastic trip and the Spyder was great with zero issues.

Yes, that's Cadillac ranch, AbN, and visitors are allowed and encouraged to add to the paint. There's even a vendor there that sells paint.

While in SF you did ride the "twisties" of Lombard Street, right??? Did you cross the Golden Gate Bridge? If so, you ended up close to where I grew up in Marin.

Awesome trip! 7 of my buddies just returned from doing the 5,000+ mile trip on Rt 66 from Ohio to California They did it in 10 days on 2 harleys, 1 goldwing, and 4 indians. My riding buddy and I are looking at doing a cross country trip next year.

Nice Pictures. Just wanted to know, how many days you needed to do the trip?
Also any other information about this trip would be great to know.

I have traveled by car on Route 66 from Chicago to Oklahoma. I found it was very interesting to see but most of the Route is now Interstate.
Time seems to change everything.

That trip is still on my bucket list to reach the left coast.
So far I haven't gotten past Utah / N.Mex on my runs.
Too many things getting in the way of stringing 2-3 weeks together.

I am planning to do RT 66 June 2025 , Looks like it will be a solo trip, as friends can't get off 3 weeks.

My buddy and I are leaving on the monday following Memorial day weekend. We will be doing parts of RT 66 on our way to the west coast. Maybe we will see you out there.

Blacklighting, I was planning to start at the beginning in Chicago. Where are you starting RT66? But I can't leave until the 9th of June.

Just a little Heads-up about Route 66. The state of Missouri is going to have a 100 year celebration of the Route.
